NAIROBI - The political rifts in ODM played out in parliament Wednesday when MPs forced the premature adjournment of house sittings after rejecting nominees to the crucial house business committee.

Agriculture Minister William Ruto, North MP Chachu Ganya and Narc's Dr Richard Monda were among those replaced by ODM in the reconstituted list.

But Chepalungu MP Isaac Ruto kicked the storm insisting the list was not a negotiated one. Several others MPs rejected the list accusing both ODM and PNU of party dictatorship.

Mounting opposition to the list forced the whips to withdraw the motion until Wednesday afternoon to allow them to consult their members through the parliamentary group on the way forward.

Isaac Ruto rose on a point of order even before the motion was moved by the chief whip George thuo accusing his party ODM of flouting the standing orders in the appointments.

The opposition by a section of ODM legislators is fueled by the removal of Ruto  from the house business committee, due to his  perceived differences with the ODM party leader Raila Odinga.

Dujis MP Adan Dwale accused party leaders of taking unilateral decisions.

PNU side has maintained its HBC members.

ODM new nominees are Industrialization Minister Henry Kosgey, Bonchari MP Charles Onyacha  and Medical Services Minister Anyan'g Nyong'o .

The Prime minister has also been dropped in the reconstituted list. Parties are meeting to be able to agree before parliaments sitting in the afternoon.
