KACC advisory Board Backtracks On Ringera Job
Posted on Wednesday, September 23, 2009 @ 13:28:54 CDT by kwpnews

NAIROBI (Kendagor Obadiah) - Aaron Ringera and Fatuma Sichale's tenure at integrity center seems to have earned another indefinite stretch since the KACC Advisory Board is not about to advertise their positions.

A closed-door meeting held by the board Tuesday decided to go slow on the matter, to pave way for negotiations between the board and the government.

But Ringera's re-appointment and that of his two deputies continue to attract a myriad of reactions from a cross section of Kenyans.

Expectations were high Tuesday that the advisory board would advertise three top positions in the anti-graft body, especially after the board's meeting which ran till late into the night.

But this was not to be since the board left the premises without a word drawing suspicions that the team had changed its tune.

Constructive agenda

Reports are however emerging that the board had actually resolved to engage the government in negotiations that would yield a constructive solution over the matter.

And this is the agenda that will top the board's upcoming meeting scheduled for October 1 October.

Amid the heat at Integrity Centre pressure for Ringera to resign piled Wednesday with Transparency international faulting the reappointment procedure.

The embattled KACC boss and his deputy Fatuma Sichale remain in office despite calls for their resignation.

Last Friday another deputy director Smokin Wanjala quit saying his conscious would not allow him to remain in office following the uproar that followed their re-appointments.

Parliament voted last week to annul the president's gazette notice appointing the trio.
